How can I add a calendar to my website?
I use Google Calendar for this. I've got two: one for the volunteers (to show the work schedule) and one for the growers (to show the farm tour and "meet the grower" schedule). I could just as easily add a third for the customers, but that's not been needed yet. The visitors can see the calendar right there, and they can also subscribe to it using whatever calendar tool they might already be using.
Google gives you code so you can embed the calendar into another webpage. So, I paste the volunteer calendar into the volunteer box on the Your Account page and the grower calendar into the grower box on the same page. I'm attaching a screenshot so you can see it in action.
If I had a general market calendar, I'd probably add an item to the Q&A page, something like "Q: Where can I see a calendar of events, pickups, and other market activities?" "A: Right Here!" and then paste the calendar code right into the answer box.
I've tried to make the text boxes flexible enough that you can take advantage of good services such as Google Calendar, Survey Monkey, Wufoo, and not expect me to try to duplicate their efforts. Mostly, it's just a matter of finding a service you like that also lets you embed their code into another page. For calendars, nothing beats Google.
