add new product
In our website www.midgeorgia.locallygrown.net, under bakery and loaf breads (as well as other categories, like dairy) there is no icon to add a new product. How do we get that icon back?
The add product icon is present in meat, beef

If the category you're in has sub-categories, you'll need to continue down the "tree" until you're in the proper sub-category before you can add products.
You've given your growers the ability to create categories, and they are creating them for no good reason. Do you really need a separate category under Loaf Breads for foccacia? Or for zucchini bread? I'd think probably not. Move those two products up a level to Loaf Breads, delete those unnecessary categories, and you'll get the New Product button back.
